Resources for Residency Program Directors

Collaborating with Program Directors (PDs) is essential to ensure that we work toward the same goals. We value their trust and dedicated efforts to better train our region’s future physicians. To sustain a truly collaborative relationship, we aim to act transparently, engaging closely with PDs in COMPADRE’s planning and implementation.

Development

A robust online repository of tools, live-streamed workshops and a virtual learning community will be available to all educators, facilitating asynchronous learning for busy faculty.

An advanced pathway will support GME program directors at community sites, adding skills for supporting struggling learners, creating and maintaining a supportive and inclusive learning environment, advancing community engagement and providing peer observation and feedback.

Ongoing educator assessment will include self-assessment and written evaluations by learners.

Wellness

Caring for the health and wellness of our patients and communities requires cultivating wellness among health care providers as well.

Faculty participating in COMPADRE can benefit from being enveloped in wellness innovation at multiple levels (individual, program, and systems). Our wellness initiatives follow current research and best practices.

COMPADRE will establish trainee wellness as a key quality indicator by administering the Mayo Well Being Index (MWBI), Perceived Cohesion Scale (PCS), and the Mindful Self-Care Scale (MSCS) to all participants, which measure burnout.
